Privacy Policy

How LifeAssist-AI version 1.0 handles your records, documents, and support messages.

Effective date: October 16, 2026

Who provides the app

LifeAssist-AI is provided by Dhana Angdembey. This policy describes the iPhone and iPad app’s version 1.0 and this support website.

Local records, under your control

The app stores your Items, categories, notes, dates, reminders, attachments, extracted text, and captured QR/barcode values in its private storage on your device. It uses those records to organize your information, search it, display attachments, and provide reminders.

Version 1.0 does not automatically upload these records to a developer-operated server or an AI provider. No app account is required.

Website appearance preference

This website stores your selected System, Light, or Dark appearance in your browser’s local storage. It is used only to remember the website appearance, is separate from app data, and can be removed by clearing this site’s browser data. It does not contain your saved items or passwords.

Private Secure Vault

The Vault separates passwords, secure documents, notes/codes, and other secure records from ordinary items. Access requires Face ID, Touch ID where supported, or the device passcode. The app does not receive biometric data or your device passcode. The Vault locks when you leave it or switch away, and its records are excluded from ordinary Search and ordinary Settings backups. Separate encrypted Vault backup and restore is available inside the unlocked Vault.

Passwords and the Vault’s encryption key are held in this device’s Keychain using device-only accessibility that requires a passcode. Other Vault records and document contents are encrypted in the app’s local storage. They do not sync automatically through the app. To move them to another device, use the separate encrypted Vault backup and its matching recovery key. Removing or resetting a device passcode, losing the device, or deleting app files can make Vault information unavailable. Keep another safe copy.

Secure documents offer View, Edit, and Delete after authentication. Share and Print are inside View. The app warns before sharing or printing a copy outside the Vault. Such copies are handled by the destination you choose and are no longer protected by the Vault. App-switcher previews are protected; screenshots, screen recording, and mirroring are not blocked on iPhone. Stop recording or mirroring before opening private information.

Delete private records from their Vault section to remove them. Keychain entries may survive uninstalling while encrypted files do not. Do not rely on app deletion to erase all Vault information or on reinstalling to recover it.

Encrypted Vault backups

Inside the unlocked Vault, you can explicitly export all four sections and secure document contents as an AES-256-GCM encrypted file. The app generates a random recovery key separately from the device-only storage key. The recovery key is shown for you to keep and confirm; it is not saved automatically or included in the backup file. If you explicitly choose Copy Recovery Key, iOS puts it on this device’s clipboard with a two-minute expiration and disables Universal Clipboard transfer for that copy. A destination where you paste it controls any saved copy. Backups are limited to 100 MB. No developer account or server is involved.

Export uses the destination you choose in the system share sheet. Anyone with both the file and recovery key could decrypt its contents. Keep them separately and safely. Restore on the same or another iPhone/iPad requires the matching key and destination-device authentication, previews counts, keeps existing IDs, and re-encrypts added records under the destination device’s protection. Restored reminder alerts stay off until you set them again. Support cannot recover a lost key. Ordinary unencrypted item backups still exclude all Vault data.

Scanning and text extraction

Camera capture, document scanning, QR/barcode recognition, image text recognition, and extraction of embedded PDF text run on the device. Results are stored locally with your Items or attachments. Extract Text and Full Text let you review recognized content; secure Vault scans do not extract text. This release has no live cloud AI service.

Optional Voice Input

Voice Input uses supported on-device speech recognition. It requires Microphone and Speech Recognition permission, and may be unavailable for some device and language combinations. The app does not fall back to cloud recognition. Review the transcript before choosing Use Text to add it to Notes, then save the item separately. Voice Input does not execute spoken commands or automatically save an item.

Permissions

  • Camera: taking attachment photos, scanning documents, and capturing QR codes or barcodes.
  • Photos: selecting images you choose to attach.
  • Files: importing documents you choose through the system file picker. Your file provider may download a selected file from its own service.
  • Microphone and Speech Recognition: optional Voice Input for turning speech into reviewed item notes.
  • Notifications: scheduling and showing reminder alerts locally. A reminder’s title or message may appear on your lock screen according to your iOS settings.

You can change permissions in iOS Settings. Denying a permission prevents the related feature from working but does not require you to stop using unrelated app features.

When information leaves your device

If you choose Share or Print, the selected content is sent to the destination app, recipient, service, or printer you choose. Their handling of that content is governed by their own terms and privacy practices. The app does not automatically send these copies to the developer.

If you choose to open a saved web link, your browser and the destination website may receive information about your visit. Capturing or storing a code does not automatically open its link.

Your iOS backup settings may cause app data to be included in an Apple or computer-managed device backup. The app provides manual Backup & Restore for ordinary records and attachment contents. Exported JSON backups are not encrypted and exclude all Private Secure Vault data. Saving or sharing a backup sends that information to the location or recipient you choose, whose privacy practices apply. The app does not provide automatic cloud sync. Manage device backups separately through the relevant device or backup service. See the Backup & Restore guide.

Advertising, tracking, and diagnostics

Version 1.0 has no advertising, cross-app tracking, or app-integrated analytics or remote crash-reporting service. The developer does not sell your personal records or document contents.

Apple may process App Store information or device diagnostics under its own policies and your settings. Information you independently send for support is handled as described below.

Retention and deletion

Local records remain in the app until removed or until the app’s data is deleted. Removing an attachment removes its saved record and related extracted text; the app also attempts to remove the managed file. This does not delete the original in your Photos library or file provider, copies shared elsewhere, or copies in device backups.

Archiving an item retains it indefinitely on this device and makes its contents read only until restored. In My Stuff → Archived, Delete permanently removes a selected item and its related notes, attachments, saved codes, extracted text and suggestions, and reminders. There is no Undo. The app retries unfinished managed-file or notification cleanup. Original photos/files, exported backups, shared copies, and Vault records are unaffected. A backup made before deletion may restore missing ordinary records; restored reminder alerts must be recreated. Version 1.0 does not provide a complete in-app delete-all function. Using iOS Delete App normally removes the app’s local data; Offload App keeps its documents and data. Device backups and external copies must be managed separately. Create and verify a backup outside the app before deleting it. Reinstalling alone does not restore local records; Private Secure Vault data is excluded from the app’s backups.

Because the developer has no remote copy of your local records, we cannot retrieve or erase those records on your device on your behalf.

Support messages

If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any files or details you choose to send. We use that information to answer your request and troubleshoot the issue. Email providers process those messages as part of delivering and storing email.

When you visit, the hosting provider may process standard connection information such as your IP address, browser details, and requested page to deliver and protect the website. These pages are hosted by GitHub Pages. GitHub’s handling of website traffic is described in the GitHub General Privacy Statement. Website hosting is separate from the app’s local records.

Children’s privacy

The app does not require age information or registration and does not knowingly collect children’s personal information through its local features. If a child has sent personal information to support, contact us to request its deletion.

Policy updates

We will update this page and its effective date if the app’s data practices change. Future features involving accounts, synchronization, analytics, or external AI processing would need updated disclosures and appropriate controls before being enabled.
